What is ZED?
ZED stands for Zero Defect, Zero Effect.
- Zero Defect emphasizes the delivery of high-quality, defect-free products.
- Zero Effect promotes environmentally responsible production processes that minimize ecological impact.
The ZED Scheme serves as a strategic tool for MSMEs to enhance operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and demonstrate a commitment to quality and sustainability.
Who Can Apply?
All Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) registered on the Udyam portal are eligible to apply.
- Applicants required Udyam Registration Number
- A mobile number linked to the registration, and a valid email ID
ZED Certification Level
MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification may be obtained at three levels following registration, with the initial step being to take the ZED pledge. Level- 1 Bronze, Level 2 Silver, Level 3 -Gold

Government Subsidy Structure
Joining Reward – one-time reward of ₹10,000 is provided to MSMEs upon taking the ZED Pledge.
The Government of India provides attractive subsidies to reduce the certification cost
